Marple Wine Club

Marple Wine Club, established in 1987,  set out to provide the  discerning wine drinkers of Marple with an opportunity to purchase a wide range of fairly priced, quality wines from around the world.  We are proud that the first Chilean wine on sale in Marple was listed by ourselves.  Our aim was, and still is, to search out family run establishments and small co-operatives whose pride in their product is paramount. We are proud to list many wines which have won awards at major wine competitions around the world. We also aim to seek the unusual and sometimes the bizarre. Following the break up of the  Soviet Union we managed to get hold of a few cases of top quality Russian wine which were found cellared in the headquarters of the KGB.  Over the years we have featured wines from every major wine producing country in the world as well as such lesser known's as Russia, Lebanon, Uruguay, Mexico and Austria.   25 years later we remain fiercely independent, we continue to fight the good fight against those supermarkets who seem to want to take over the world. We are committed to serving those who want to "shop local".

La Citadelle Sablet 2008 (Cotes du Rhone Villages)

As part of my job I get to taste lots of wines....... I know it's hard but someone has to do it.  Most are good, some are very good,  then every now and again I come across a great wine ...one that stands out head and shoulders above its peers. La Citadelle Sablet is one such wine. Full, round, packed with sweet fruit and laced with complex oak and nutmeg nuances.  At £10.95 it is worth every penny.  Check it out on our French reds page

Berticot Sauvignon Wins Silver Medal.

For many years now we have been extolling the virtues of this fantastic wine.  We feel fully vindicated as the 2010 vintage  has just won a silver  medal at the Paris Concours General, the leading wine competition in France.
Fresh, well rounded, fruity, dry white with  hints of gooseberries.   Gorgeous ..... and fantastic value at £6.95.
